The power to walk free of fear

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

We are delivered from fear.

We have received a spirit of adoption by which we cry Abba Father that eradicates fear. Our sonship gives us confidence before God that we no longer have a spirit of bondage or slavery. When we know whose we are it gives us boldness and wipes away timidity. As an adopted child of God we have full legal rights to all the Father has and we have the privilege of casting our care upon Him. We don’t have to carry any weight we can toss it to the One who has all resources and cares for our soul. Whatever the situation, rest in the fact that He is your Father and there is no cause to worry. Fear is the impostor, rebuke it and not allow it to take up residence in your house. Stand on your position as a child of God.

He has given us power to trample upon serpents and scorpions and nothing shall by any means harm us. We don’t have to live in fear of evil forebodings. Fearing that something bad is going to happen is bondage. We have been redeemed from fear and we need to take a stand against it.

God has also given us power over the fear of death.

Hebrews 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

As children of God we have a blessed hope and should not be in terror of death. We can be assured that He loves us and it is his promise that He will satisfy us with long life and we will not die prematurely.

One of the ways we take our mind off the fiery darts the enemy is by using our power to do good and healing all who are oppressed by the enemy. We heal people by sharing our testimony. We heal people by praying for them. When we go on the offensive we do not have time to fellowship with fear.

Let us be mindful of the fact that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power love and a sound mind.

I’ve learned that writing doesn’t always begin with clarity it often begins with curiosity. Some days the words come easily, other days they hide. But if I keep showing up, something honest always finds its way through.
